Kuan Chen

Founding Data Scientist

Chengkuan (Kuan) Chen, MS is the Founding Data Scientist at Modella AI, where he works as a core member of the research & development team. Prior to that, he was a Senior Research Associate at Brigham and Women's Hospital and Harvard Medical School, where he led the development of petabyte-scale AI retrieval systems for histopathology image search (Nature BME 2022). Previously, Kuan was also a Machine Learning Engineer at the Broad Institute, where he worked on large language models for variant effect prediction. Kuan received his MS in Computer Science from Columbia University, and his BS in Electrical Engineering from National Taiwan University.
